Italian international Matteo Darmian was a second half substitute for Inter Milan during their Champions League last 16 second leg clash with Liverpool at Anfield earlier in the week. He played the final fifteen minutes as Inter Milan came close to rescuing their round of 16 tie with the Premier League giants.

Ex-Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian is not a stranger to Liverpool from his time at Old Trafford. He was benched for the two legs against the Reds as Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi opted for a younger fullback in Dutch senior national team star Denzel Dumfries on the right side of the defence.
