DARMIAN LINKED WITH SUMMER EXIT FROM INTER

Inter Milan defender Matteo Darmian is one of the players that have been linked with a move away from the Italian Serie A giants this summer. Just two weeks ago the defender was in an interview where he revealed that he regrets not being able to command a permanent starting role at his former club, Manchester United during his time there and that he was also determined to try to achieve that aim at Inter Milan. However, his dreams of becoming the club’s first-choice right-back could be in shatters following the recent reports that he is on the list of the likely exits at the club.

Inter are currently in a financial crisis after their Chinese co-owner opted out of the club and they must now sell some of their stars in order to meet up with the financial standards of the Italian Serie A. They have already sold prolific right-back, Achraf Hakimi, to French Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain this summer and may still lose a couple of players before this window ends. Their star forwards Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku have both been linked with possible exits but the rumors have been clamped upon by their President.

Lukaku has been linked with an emotional return to Chelsea while Martinez was said to be a major transfer target for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona but both players look set to remain in Italy to build on the strong campaign they had last season.

Darmian, despite the sale of his former teammate and competitor for the right-back role at Inter, Hakimi, is one of the leading names on the list of likely summer departures and he has been linked with a return to the English Premier League, with West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion said to be keen to acquire his services.
